  1. I will be attending GWU in the fall for the MA IA program within the Elliott School. I am currently looking for housing, a roommate, and looking into interships/jobs (as I am attending without financial aid). Any suggestions on good neighborhoods to check out would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has worked at GWU in the past, how was that experience? I understand they have some programs where they forgive some tuition costs if you work for them.
  2. I will officially be attending GWU's Elliott school in the fall. Any recommendations on where a grad student should live? I value convenience, affordability and safety in my search. Any ideas from those who know the area well?
  3. I'm in. Will be attending GWU Elliott in the fall. PM me for networking info.
  4. I've decided to attend GWU's Elliott School. NYU just doesn't add up to me. The program is too young and there's virtually no departmental fellowship/scholarship offerings. I'm opting for the most established program. Also my correspondence with NYU has been sub-par, while GWU has been very helpful and responsive.
  5. Just got notification that I've been accepted for Fall 09. Now I have to decide between GWU Elliott and NYU. Glad the suspense is finally over.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I sent you a PM as well.
  7. I applied to the program back in December, for Fall 2009. I have still yet to get a reply. When I call to check the status they tell me it's still in review. For a program that advertises rolling admissions, I am quite dissapointed in the time it is taking to get a response. When I ask them about this, they only explain that there were 50% more applicants this year than last. I've already heard from the 5 other schools I applied to (in at LBJ, American SIS, GWU Elliott, and The New School MAIA, rejected from Georgetown MSFS). With acceptance deadlines rapidly approaching, I'm a little frustrated with NYU. But should I be accepted and offered some financial aid, I would consider the school still. Has anyone who has been accepted been offered scholarship/fellowship? Do they announce this in the initial letter of acceptance?
