Is anyone else having this problem? I have called every day for over a week and am still getting the run-around.

Applied for the summer semester and was supposed to find out a while ago. No one has responded to emails, but I was promised a phone call back today. It is approaching 5 pm and still no word. I am hoping this is an oversight or mistake and not bad news. Their website says admission will be granted to applicants meeting one of several criteria and I did meet the undergrad GPA criteria, but that almost seems too easy.....

Has anyone heard back from USF yet?

79th-93rd. HM. Not one award in my subdiscipline. I feel like my chances were ruined by a drop down menu, not by my actual application.

How did you all find your percentiles?

Not a single award for Life Sciences - Conservation Biology! If I had known I would have picked a different sub-discipline, my research would have fit in several other categories.

I called my local program officer before I applied and he said I was still eligible. I worked for my major professor for a year in between my grad and undergrad so I was afraid I wouldn't be eligible, but I was.

HM for me. Congrats to all, hope everyone who really needed it got it so they can keep doing great science and that everyone else will keep doing great science anyway.

Ouch, except that then you probably wouldn't still be here. A friend got it last year and her reviewers said something like "The applicant has broader impacts, but not the research" so it's probably not a fatal flaw.

Why didn't I think of that? Excuse me while I spend the rest of the evening kicking myself. And yes let's be Facebook friends.

Ditto. Especially since they are always saying that they are giving us all the information they have.

PSi_light, Sorry to hear about your brother. Totally puts my award angst into perspective. Everyone PSi_light is right, honorable mention is something to be proud of. At the very least we were all recommended for funding.

Umm, is it against the rules to say I don't want to know anymore? At least now I have the possibility of getting a fellowship, but once we know, no possibility, no hope. Can we stay in limbo? Limbo is fun, limbo is a party-game, lots of fun people like to limbo.

We can talk about R and Monte Carlo, as per my previous post! That should easily get us to 200 pages.

Looks like it was just maintenance. This morning I'm getting the Fastlane beta site with the same 950 awardees. Maybe tomorrow...

Higgins! Hang in there. You're smart, and if your posts are representative of how your proposal was written I'd say you have a good chance of getting the fellowship. If not, you are still smart and will figure something out. Poppinfresh, thanks for the haiku!
