I have been following this thread and holding my breath along with everyone. I was accepted into the MA program two weeks ago after being officially rejected. When I received news of my rejection (first from calling the registrar and then officially in the mail a few days later) I felt very disappointed and began to think about my alternative plan, which was to work for another year, gain experience in the field and reapply next year.
A few days after I found out I was rejected, I was contacted by email for an in-person interview with a potential supervisor (one whom I hadn't even expressed interest in working with in my statement of intent), and then three weeks after that I received an acceptance package in the mail. This all happened late-April and into mid-May. So really... anything is possible! And it made for a wonderful birthday present.
