  1. For those of you who have not received any forms since April--- I hadn't heard anything in months about the grant authorization and came to find out that Argentina was spelling my name (and therefore my email address) incorrectly. I think it is worth emailing and program coordinator in New York to make sure that everything is up to date and accurate. I ended up getting a call from New York asking me if I still wanted the grant since I had not replied to any emails! Luckily, it all worked out.
  2. I was wondering the same thing. I have searched around on the site but have not found anything. I am in a similar situation for Argentina. Sent in the medical forms over a month ago but have still heard nothing from Argentina. I know that my grant does not start until next year but I am still anxious to get grant authorization and more information from them!
  3. I sent in my medical clearance about 5 weeks ago and I have not heard anything back. My program does not start until next year so I guess there is no rush. However, I would have thought I would hear something by now... is there anyone out there going to Argentina? Maybe they can give me some insight...
  4. Have you thought about the Peace Corps? They have a lot of opportunities in Southern Asia... it may be worth checking it out.
  5. I think it depends on the country. There is a person at my school who got a grant to Indonesia and most of hers was done online. For me, I got a letter saying they accepted me, that my grant is contingent upon completing the medial form and sending in the official grant acceptance form that I should get sometime soon from Argentina, and a lot of stuff about how Fulbright was so great. There was also the medical form, instructions for completing it, and a reminder to send transcripts to IIE when I graduate. I think that was about it. This was for an ETA so it may be different for research grants and between different countries. For now, I am supposed to wait for more information from Argentina. That was about a month ago... but my grant doesn't start until March 2010 so I am not really worried about it. I'm sure if your grant starts in September they will be much faster.
  6. To everyone who is worried about the medical clearance, it is not a big deal! For some reason I found out really early about getting an ETA to Argentina (sorry! ) so I did the medical clearance a few weeks ago. All you have to do is get a physical (it is literally a checklist that takes five minutes), get blood drawn, get a pelvic exam, and when all the results come back, get your doctor to fill it out on the form. It took me a week to get it all complete it and it cost about $200 before insurance.
  7. Has anyone applied to Argentina? I found out about three weeks ago that I was awarded an ETA there! Just wondering if anyone else is going to Argentina...
