  1. Alternate for the German ETA here. I got a REALLY frustrating email from Fulbright a couple days ago. It says: Dear ----, Thank you for your email which I also forwarded to PAD. I herewith would like to confirm that you are very high on the alternate list. In case there is another withdrawal we will move you up to principal status. Kind regards, Ines Ines Horbert Program Officer ----------- I know it sounds so awful, but I'm almost MORE upset now, knowing that I was so close! I had just about resigned myself to making other plans for next year and even feeling okay about it. But now, I just feel so anxious all over again, but I'm scared to get my hopes up (sorry to be melodramatic). Does anyone else feel like this right now? Any thoughts on what the chances on this actually happening are?
  2. Hi everyone, So I applied for an ETA to Germany and afterwards realized I made the dumbest mistake ever. After reaching finalist status, I filled out the supplemental PAD application but did not include the essays in German. I just got back a notification from Fulbright, and, not surprisingly, I've been placed on the alternate list. I feel so incredibly stupid for forgetting those essays. My scholarship advisor says it's too late to send in anything now. Basically, my questions are: Is there any type of priority ranking in the alternate list? How many people are on it for Germany? Have I basically screwed up my chances for getting it? If anyone has any answers whatsoever (or anything that just might make me feel better ) I'd really appreciate it!
