My hubby was notified by email on Friday (2/26) of his acceptance to UO Sociology PhD program. Letters by snail mail are supposed to be forthcoming.

Do you know if it was a personal email or a mass email? Eee! Biting nails!

Yay! Good luck! I know Oregon is a really small program, but I really loved it when I visited.

It was personal. Or, at least they addressed the email directly to him and there were no "cc" on it.

I'm waiting for news from UCSC and am also biting my nails. Good luck!

You are both applying for Sociology PhD programs? That is exciting and nerve wracking! Are you applying to the same programs?

hm, i wonder if that means the rest of us are out.

I don't think so. If it looked personal, then we might still have hope. I mean, could I be saying this because it's the last Soc program I'm holding out for, sure. But I think it's a logical argument, nonetheless.

Crap. Emailed the grad coordinator today - he said letters are in the mail. After a little prodding, I got the copy of mine - rejection. They had 135 applications for only 8 spots.

So with that and the expected bad news from Michigan... It looks like the PhD program is not in my immediate future. Waugh waugh...
