Graduate recruitment event @University of Minnesota Twin Cities

Hello All!

Anyone please help me :-

I have filled DS-160 form for B1 US visa in order to attend the graduate recruitment event at University of Minnesota on 2-4'Mar. But, unfortunately, the earliest appointment available for visa interview in India is on 1'Mar. So, If I can apply for expedited appointment and is my reason (urgency) would be accepted by the consular office?

Call the consulate, but I doubt that in the context of the state department a recruitment weekend counts as an emergency.
