FAFSA and Canadian Schools

I was accepted at my top choice school - in Canada - today! YAY!

I was offered a TA-ship, which will help, but will be applying for loans to help pay for the rest of tuition, fees, and living expenses.

I will be moving with my husband and son. My first question is does anyone have any experience getting FAFSA loans for Canadian schools? Is the application process the same as if I were going to a school in the US? Second...if most of my money will be coming from loans, how do I prove to Canadian immigration that I have enough money to support my family while we are there? Does anyone have any idea of what the timeline is like?

To make things more complicated, I am American, but I am currently living in Mexico and my husband is a Mexican citizen.
