Prose Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Anyone know anything about the MSt? Good bridge to PhD programs or not? Perception within the field? Thanks.
anonnn123 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 There's some information on the oxford website on where those who have done the MSt in ancient philosophy have gone after they've finished.

As far as I know (and this information is three years old), the MSt in Ancient Philosophy is an excellent and a very rigorous program. If you don't already have reading competence in Greek, the program will also require you to train in classical languages along with the rest of the coursework. If I remember correctly - and I think this is listed on the website somewhere - if you pass the MSt with distinction, you're auto-considered for the D.Phil (though you're likely to have to reapply for funding).

Prose Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 Thanks a lot! Anyone know if it's true that you get inadequate attention compared to the BPhil students in this program?
