phyanth Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 So, I'm waiting to hear back on funding from a school, but I have a question about worst case scenario: If a PhD program is unfunded, do you still get a tuition waiver, or do you literally have to pay for everything like an undergraduate degree?
TakeruK Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Tuition waiver counts as part of funding, so if you are truly unfunded, then you would pay for tuition too. However, it is possible that some very limited funding offers just include enough to cover tuition and/or a tuition waiver with a very small stipend. phyanth 1
