So, I was just recently admitted to McGill's MA program, which is very exciting since it's both my top choice and a largely interdisciplinary school (my undergrad thesis interacted with film and literature). It's really a perfect fit for me.

McGill was slightly different in the application process -- they specifically instructed us not to contact professors who we might want to work with. However, I have spent a lot of time researching potential advisors, and I think I have it narrowed down to three that decently match my research interests. At this point, I am wondering how I should proceed.

If you did a terminal MA, how soon did you contact potential advisors? Or did you at all? Were you intimidated in doing so?
