Hello from Wurster Hall!

UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design CED is now accepting applications to our immersive summer program - the Summer [IN]STITUTE in Environmental Design - for post-baccalaureates who are interested in pursuing graduate study in architecture or city planning but lack an academic background in those fields.

Participants spend six intensive weeks at UC Berkeley testing their affinity for graduate work in the environmental design disciplines: honing visual representation skills, connecting with faculty and practitioners, developing presentation and critique strategies, engaging with the history and theory of the fields, working with real-world clients, conducting field work, building a network of like-minded peers, and polishing graduate school applications. Recent Institute graduates have been accepted to master's programs at such institutions as UC Berkeley, Harvard, UT Austin, Columbia, U Penn, U Michigan, Princeton, and others.

I'd be happy to answer questions about the four Institute cohorts - [IN]CITY, [IN]ARCH, [IN]LAND and [IN]ARCH ADV, and connect you with some of our amazing program alums who have gone on to prestigious planning graduate programs and professional positions.

Drop me a line at summer-institutes@berkeley.edu.
