SammieSam Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 It is good to know I am not the only one anxious to get admissions decisions back! Has anyone heard from Milano at The New School in NYC or from Mills College in Oakland, Ca? Has anyone even heard about Mills as I have not seen one post about it? My MPP application status: Accepted: Univ Michigan, Tufts, Brandeis, UMass Amherst Waitlisted: George Washington Rejected: none Waiting to Hear from: The New School, NYU, Mills Thanks!
necreation Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I applied to the New School- Milano for Urban Policy Analysis and Management. I called the admissions office on Friday and they told me that decisions were in the process of being mailed out that evening. I am expecting to receive snail mail from them any day now. I'll be sure to update when I get any word from them. I see you are waiting to hear from NYU too...I am in the same boat. It gets really nerve-wracking when some people hear back and others don't. I never heard of Mills..hopefully somebody else on here has and will respond soon. HTH.
Gnyc Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Hi everyone. Just wanted to share that the Milano School has started sending out acceptance letters. Got a big envelope today. Good luck to everyone!!
SammieSam Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 I got my acceptance letter yesterday! They sent it via FedEx- interesting.
SammieSam Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 FYI Called the Mills MPP program today and they expect to mail out decisions the week of April 5th.
jjay181 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I received my acceptance letter early this week. They gave me a April 15th deadline to accept.
necreation Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Congrats to all the other admits. I got my letter in the mail Saturday with 1/3 tuition. I really liked the map they included in the packet too. Now it's decision time.
lollygag Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 yes! congrats to everyone who has heard back from Milano! i'm going to go cry in my pillow. at this point i take it as a bad sign that i haven't heard anything. if they made their decisions around the 12th and i got everything in on time and i live in nyc, then i would probably have gotten something by now. i guess i prefer to deal with rejection than to keep on waiting!
AlexaM1012 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I also applied to Milano for Urban Policy. I actually got an email this afternoon from admissions inviting me to admitted students day, but no letter in the mail yet....
lollygag Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 i actually called them to check on the status of my application. apparently since my application was only completed as of March 2nd, she said that it would take another couple of weeks for me to get a decision. so, i guess i might have missed the first batch.... we'll see.
PaleGreenStars Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Is anyone going to the admitted students day at New School on April 10th? Or either career development event on April 1 or 7th?
unmet145 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Hey Guys, I also got an acceptance via invitation to the open house, so I haven't received my package and therefore don't know my how much money I got. Blows my mind why they would do something like that, totally stole their thunder. The question I have is what kind of reputation the institution has outside of NY. I'm from Boston and had never heard of it and just showed up to an info session because my friend suggested it. I liked what they had to say especially their focus on real world projects. I'm also waitlisted at BU non-profit MBA. I liked the BU program because it is so versatile. Also how does Milano compare to Suffolk MPA. My feeling is that they are similar in that they have good standing and great connections within their respective cities. Any thoughts? any response would be greatly appreciated. my top choice is BU then NYU then New School, Suffolk
