Health Insurance/Medicaid

Hi,

I'm in my last year of my SLP program, so I need health insurance for one more year.  I've had insurance through work and then switched over to my school's policy, but this year my program is charging more than $4000 for their policy.  This is too expensive as it's $1000 more than the previous year.  I started my application through the health insurance marketplace and it says I'm eligible for medicaid based on income information.  Has anyone opted for medicaid, and can discuss the pros/cons?  I know there is a stigma with choosing medicaid, but beyond that are there any actual downsides to choosing this option?

What stigma is associated with medicaid? That maybe health insurance is too expensive so maybe some people need help getting covered? If I qualify, I plan on getting it. Nobody pays my bills so I care nothing about a stigma
