Is GPA averaged out if I attended multiple schools for undergrad?

Hello everyone,

I've been looking at GPA requirements for programs and am a little confused as to figuring out what mine would be/getting an idea of where I stand. I attended three community colleges simultaneously for the first half of my undergraduate degree (the course options at the school closest to my house were slim) before transferring to where I spent my last two years and eventually graduat ed from. My question is this: is GPA averaged out between all of the institutions attended? It would make sense if this was the case.

For reference, my cumulative/averaged GPA across all colleges attended would be a 3.84, but if only the university I graduated from is considered, it would be a 3.61. I'm mainly applying to UK schools, so it feels a bit more ambiguous, as they don't even use GPA's. I would be providing transcripts from all institutions. 

I've sent emails to the schools I'm interested in asking this question, but have not received any answers yet.

Hi, it's always confusing navigating transcripts and GPAs as a transfer student, but my understanding is that you submit only the GPA from the institution which you graduated from. Unfortunately your other GPAs don't get averaged in. However, do send transcripts from all your schools. This way wherever you're applying will see your grades. I'd also include a little statement at the end of your essays explaining that you went to a few schools before transferring.
