BMCGirl10 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 My friend just got accepted into SFS's Masters of Arab Studies program. They're giving her 20K in aid with the expectation that she come up with 50K a year on her own. What should she do? What did you do? Are private loans the only option?
news2yous Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I would like to necro this topic, since this may become an issue for me if I don't receive funding. Does anyone have advice on what to do if you don't get any scholarships, fellowships, scholarships, or other offers?

What are her post-master's goals and where are her other acceptances?
domnulsl Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Yep, I'm in the same boat; I'd probably have to get BUTT-NAKED like Lindsay Lohan to pay for my study. So loans and a cheaper school for me. Instead of doing an expensive 2-year program at SAIS, I'm leaning toward a good 16-month program at Maxwell even though it would probably be real nice hanging out in DC.
senatorsmith85 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 The OP's post is from two years ago and her friend is probably finishing up her master's program and thinking about jobs now. news2yous bumped it to bring up the issue of paying for a MA when you get little funding. We've been having a discussion about the issue over here:
