  1. Well I just got officially rejected from Chicago; didn't even get funding for CIR. With that, I'm rejected from all schools except one which is probably just waiting to reject me and one which waitlisted me for funding. Not a great year for me.
  2. Do you think it would be okay to ask (after a few weeks or months) different schools about my application, specifically, what my weaknesses were and what I could do to improve for the next time I apply? I heard some people did this, got some good responses, and were able to do much better the next cycle they applied.
  3. Same question here. I'm wondering whether or not a program like CIR or MAPSS would necessarily be beneficial. I'm also considering write an entirely new writing sample. Some people said my interests might have been stated to broadly on my SOP. I just don't know.
  4. Can anyone claim a Georgetown admit with funding for IR? I only see American and Theory so far.
  5. To those who have not heard back from UCLA: - If you haven't heard back yet, that means no decision has been made yet. - The timeframe is mid-March. You should hear by March 15 - some people might not heard back until March 23.
  6. For those who have still not heard from Chicago: - Admissions decisions are still not done. - They will be done by the end of this week. The hope is that they will be done by Wednesday, but that is not guaranteed. - They were not able to comment on whether or not they are talking about the PhD program or if these decisions were just for CIR/MAPSS or both. Hope that helps!
  7. Thanks! I really appreciate the effort you put out to inform us applicants. Most of us are really lost, even here on GradCafe.
  8. Whoah, congrats to the new Georgetown admits! ...hopefully I will be joining you soon? What time did you get the emails? (Please state the time zone as well)
  9. Did Georgetown tell anyone a rough estimate for the rest of the decisions? Would it be a good idea for one of us to call?
  10. Okay, this is just ridiculous now. Is this real life? Did only three people on gradcafe ever hear back at all from Georgetown? And no one else goes there or knows anything about their admissions schedule to even comment on the situation? What?
  11. Better yet, LET GWU KNOW ABOUT YOUR DECISION!!! They can't release any funding to alternates until you decline!
