I also applied to this program. Forgive me for reviving a dead thread, but when did you hear back from Adelphi? Did you get in?

A friend of mine got her UMass Amherst acceptance letter/e-mail for the Au.D. program on Feb. 14.

Darn, I still haven't heard anything from UMass. At this point, I'm assuming rejection and/or waitlist. Just out of curiosity, is your friend in state?

I'm doing audiology and the most I've got so far is a request for a 4th LOR, an invite to SUNY Buffalo's Open House, and a phone interview with Syracuse University (which is in an hour and a half - I'm hyperventilating!)... Anyways, other than that, I've yet to hear anything from the rest of my 9 schools.

Those are all good signs! An hour and a half interview? Wow. I wonder how many applicants they are interviewing. My friend had a phone interview with Syracuse for the SLP program and she said it was a very relaxed interview, they just wanted to get a feel for her personality and ask why their program/why Syracuse? You'll do great, don't worry!

Lol, no, it was in an hour and a half... Which actually turned out to be an overestimation because they called an hour before I expected them to call! No problem, though. It was pretty short, about 10-15 min, and very relaxed, like your friend's interview was. The woman on the other end asked why I wanted to study audiology, and that was pretty much it. She said to expect notification of admission/rejection during the first couple weeks of March. I think the total number of applicants they were interviewing - as of this morning - was about 105 (SLP and AuD combined).

Guess there's nothing left to do but wait and see, but man, does waiting suck. I'm tempted to go to Happy Hour for a little afternoon relaxation!

starlite,

Yes I did get in. I found out on April 3, 2010. They called me for my interview this exact time last year and I had my interview early March. Good luck! :)

I have a friend in audiology that got into Indiana University's AuD program and received an assistanceship. Another of my friends also had an interview with Ball State. That's all I know of so far (I'm in SLP, not audiology).

Yes, my friend is in-state. Maybe that's why she got it so early? Yours could still be on it's way in the mail!

I have heard from University of Florida, accepted, but rejected from Vanderbilt, interviewed with JMU 2 weeks ago and with Lousville almost a month ago

I've heard from UMass Amherst, UConn, Northeastern, and Northwestern. I'm taking my post-bac classes at UMass now, and know that they do a sort of rolling admissions. They accept their top choices early on, and as people decline, they accept more people. So it is a combination of rolling admissions and a waitlist, though they don't notify you of waitlist status. It's possible that they could continue to offer admission until the end of April, after the response deadline. Don't give up hope yet!

Yes, I have heard something similar about UMass since posting on this thread so I assumed myself to be on the waitlist. I wish they would at least e-mail you to let you know the status of your application. I've already accepted admission else where though, so I'm going to withdraw my application anyway.

What programs do you consider a 'top AuD program'? Just out of curiousity

I'm really curious to know what the profiles are of applicants accepted to top AuD programs... any takers?
