  1. What do you mean by profile?
  2. I'm just not the brightest bulb on the tree. Apparently being officially accepted does not mean me saying yes to them - it meant the school approving the departments decision to accept me to the school! Just found that tidbit out in today's mail! I need a graduate degree to figure out how to get my graduate degree Thanks for your speedy reply!
  3. Thanks so much. I feel like such a dumba$$ - just got an "official" acceptance from UW. I thought the AuD offer was official! You are very lucky to go to the same grad school as you did for your undergrad work. It is good to know "the system".
  4. I sent the following e-mail ten days ago - and they have not replied. Now I'm not sure if I should re-send, call, or just accept the offer. Any advice?? Hi Prof. XYZ - thank you again for taking the time to answer my questions. I spoke with a ABC University financial aid counselor and she told me that until I was officially accepted to the school that they would not process my financial aid package; and that I would not be listed as accepted until I notify your department that I am taking the grad student slot. Would it be alright with you if I officially accepted the position in order to have my financial aid application processed? I'd hate to say yes and take a slot from someone else only to find out later that I can not manage the finances - but I'm not sure how else to proceed. Please let me know what you suggest. Thank you again for your assistance and understanding.
  5. Sorry - not familiar with Maryland... but did you apply or get accepted anywhere else?
  6. I forgot to ask - did you get any indication of financial aid from UW? I'm under the impression that the financial aid office won't process anything unless you are accepted at the school - and the only way for the computer to show that is if you actually accept their offer of admission... But I feel uncomfortable saying yes if the financial aid award is not enough. Catch 22!
  7. Oh yes - I have a theory (with absolutely no evidence to back it up) that the SDSU/UCSD program selects out of state student's as their first choice because they are required to pay SO much more to attend the school! The budget crunch here is really horrible!
  8. I don't know about UCSD - but at SDSU there are only a handful of students who are currently attending the SLHS undergrad program who are even interested in AuD. Only one of us got in, but that is still a a greater than 20% acceptance rate. My GPA is 3.8 and I broke 1200 on the GRE. SDSU's undergrad advisor is not on the grad school selection committee - so it is a big mystery. Racking my brains and coming up empty... what is an IS student?
  9. Applied and accepted to Arizona, Gallaudet, Vandy and UW. Declined all but UW & holding out hope for the wait list at SDSU/UCSD. I didn't visit the school but everyone I've talked to in audiology here (san diego) raves about the offerings at UW. When you decline UNC then maybe someone accepted at SDSU will move up enough on UNC's wait list to get an offer from UNC and then turn down SDSU so I can take their spot!
  10. I was wondering where else you applied - where else you were accepted - and who you chose and why
  11. If you are on the waitlist at either Vanderbilt or Gallaudet for the audiology program, you're in luck - I just turned each school down - so you should move up on the list. If you are accepted at SDSU/UCSD and are going to turn them down - please do it soon! I'm #15 and prefer San Diego to University of Washington
