Are 10-11 MS applications too much?

Forget the financials of paying application fees for now.

I found a list of 10-11 schools that I am really interested in for an M.S. program in Statistics, and I want to apply to all of them to maximize my odds of getting in somewhere.

My worry is that my recommendation writers won't take too kindly to this number of schools (I assumed that they would be more or less copy-pasting letters for each schools). Any thoughts on this?

@cyberwulf Since you are a faculty member yourself what is your opinion on this situation?
