shrek12 Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 I think in fact the majority of acceptances are without interview. And based on previous years, we can expect them to send the first batch of acceptances in the first week of Feb!
swirly12 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I saw that acceptances were posted for computer science PhD's at SEAS. Does this mean all acceptances are already sent out?
meownes Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) I got a letter saying "recommended for admission" today. I had an interview in Jan. Edited February 6, 2019 by meownes
prvn Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) I've seen just two acceptances for the Applied Physics PhD. Does Harvard contact the admitted students over a period of few days? Edited February 7, 2019 by prvn

I had applied, I have already been accepted!! I got my notification on 6th of Feb. Financial offer on 14th Feb. Very excited to join Harvard next fall.
Irishguy Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Hey guys, by any small chance was anyone else waitlisted for material science and mechanical engineering? I applied to biodesign and I'm trying to figure what my chances actually are, given that I'm on a "short roster of students" according to the email I got. It looks like a lot of people on here are interested in biodesign/biophysics/bioengineering, so I'd imagine it would be extremely competitive to actually gain admittance. I assume that another PhD admitted to the biodesign lab would have to decline the offer for me to get in ? . Thanks!!

But I haven't received any response so far and I believe it will be a rejection in all likelihood. Congrats on the waitlist though. Did you have interviews before with any PI from harvard ? Also, did the waitlist email specify the PI ? Also, could you share your profile?
Irishguy Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 I did have a short interview with POI in January. Definitely should have come across better, might be where I lost it. Email did not specify POI. Apart from that 4.0 GPA, multiple scholarships, some engineering awards and one conference presentation
