Carnivorous_Man Posted January 26, 2019 Share Posted January 26, 2019 I got an offer from NCSU and a phone interview invitation from UIUC this morning. I am very attracted by the job placement of NCSU graduates and I do plan to go to industry after graduation. But I think UIUC has a legendary CS department and I am indeed interested in machine learning and want to learn more about computer science. Is there anyone who can comment on these two programs? bayessays Posted February 18, 2019 Share Posted February 18, 2019 UIUC is a well respected department. As for industry jobs, what industry are we talking about? The advantage to NCSU is getting jobs in the Triangle area. If you want a tech job in California or NY, you're in good shape from either school. Unless you definitely want to work in NC triangle, I think your decision should come down to research interests, location preference, and department size (NCSU is huge, UIUC much smaller).
