Any recommended materials/books/Youtube channels to serve as a primer on public administration before I start an MPA in the fall?

Obviously the courses will cover it, but I'm interested in getting a primer on the subject to better help me prepare and understand. Something that's maybe not just a technical textbook, but maybe a book that speaks on the topic, key issues, etc., if that makes sense.

You could try checking out Harris' podcast. They delve into a topic for 10-20 minutes with a new podcast coming out every month:

When I was doing an MPA, we took a lot of side courses online at the Emergency Management institute. You could do some work on there. Also figure out how to use excel like an expert, and if you can, study public budgeting.
