itheproofofstupidity Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Hey all! A professor contacted me a few days ago at a reach program asking for some additional information. She then emailed me a few days later saying that I was on the borderline and didn't make the initial admit list. However, based on my research interests, she is recommending admission for me for the final committee discussion. She stressed that this is not an offer and that my job now is to wait and let her know what the committee says. As a note, she is a more senior member of faculty in a chair position. Question: Is this typical and does this usually result in an admission? On a side note, the professor came from the same institution and engineering department that I did my undergrad work. She's also doing her work in the field in which I am most interested so I wrote about her recent work in my SoP. Thanks in advance!
