TMNT Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I am about ready to commit to one of the schools I have been accepted to. I am waitlisted an one program and I wanted to see if it is necessary/customary to notify a school you are waitlisted at that you will be accepting another offer? I haven't had any correspondences with this school since early Feb and I doubt I will get off the WL. I probably will notify them but I don't want to come off as too presumptuous since I am not an accepted student. Thanks.
socialpsychg Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'm sure they would prefer you told them. Just say you've accepted an offer at another institution, and that you'd like to withdraw your name from consideration. That way, if you ended up getting accepted, they won't waste a day - a couple days to learn about your situation then.
shakespearebro Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I agree with social. Seems like the courteous and professional thing to do.
