I have been placed on the waitlist of a couple of schools for my graduate program. This was my first time ever applying. I was wondering if students should email back the program and thank them for the opportunity or something along those lines?

Hey there :) Yes, you should email back if you are still interested. I've done this for programs in the past and always turned out better than worse. Good luck!
