Eyal Cohen Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Hey, all. I recently got accepted into Columbia University's writing program, as well as The New School's writing program. I'm also on the waitlist to NYU's writing program (all three for nonfiction). I was wondering if anyone knows any alumni of the programs, or knows much about the programs, and could maybe help me make my decision. I'm sure everyone is occupied with their own process, but I would love to know more about the programs/areas/faculty/support, if anyone can help. Thanks in advance!
feralgrad Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 I don't know anyone in these programs personally, but I've lurked in these forums a lot. One thing I've noticed is that Columbia's program gets weird reviews. I've heard that due to the funding situation (they only fund a few people, and of course it's quite expensive) there's tension between funded and unfunded students. Did any of the programs offer you funding?
Eyal Cohen Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 I’m lucky enough to be offered 75% scholarship from TNS, and $30,000 a year from Columbia (roughly 50%). Do you know anyone that had went to either of these programs?
