JA1213 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I guess my title says it all! Ill be graduating next May which seems like a long time away but we all know time really flies! When do you recommend taking the PRAXIS? When would be the earliest I could start working? Anywhere here start off in EI?
AlwaysaFalcon Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Personally as a part of my program it is recommended that you take the Praxis around the same time as when you take our qualifying exam (which is our final exam). Personally I would talk to your academic advisor about when to take it to make sure. I believe in taking it ahead of time so it doesn't mess up your licensing.
slporbust2016 Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Praxis-around the time of comps and when you've completed most of your coursework CF-depends on the provisional licensing requirements of the state in which you want to work. You won't be able to officially count any hours for ASHA's purposes until you've completed all requirements and graduated, but some states will let you start work early if you're done with everything needed per your university. Some won't let you apply for provisional licensure until your degree is officially conferred. Some don't have provisional licensure. It really just depends on the state.
