Over the past two years, the number of shoppers in Central Plaza has been steadily decreasing while the popularity of skateboarding has increased dramatically. Many Central Plaza store owners believe that the decrease in their business is due to the number of skateboard users in the plaza. There has also been a dramatic increase in the amount of litter and vandalism throughout the plaza. Thus, we recommend that the city prohibit skateboarding in Central Plaza. If skateboarding is prohibited here, we predict that business in Central Plaza will return to its previously high levels."

Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation is likely to have the predicted result. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

Answer:

The following argument presents a devoid of correlation. First of all, there is no place for an argument or hypothesis based on the popularity of skateboarding could be the fact of fallings on the number of shoppers that attend to the mall, deter its main conclusion, Central Plaza will have high sales again when the skateboarding be ban.

The assumption based on assuming that skateboarding is the cause of a decrease in customers it shows a lack of information and correlation. Perhaps there was a breakpoint or a boost in the popularity of skating while at the same time the concurrence in the Central Plaza drops off, however, there is no true evidence in just taking for a grant this, because it has not existed tests or statistics about this hypothesis, so it is just a conviction.

The argument represents a solid belief on unchanged things and trends on time, it is assuming that people it is still interesting going to malls and shopping, when we clearly have seen a steady increase in sales through internet, and also in recent years the close of many malls across developing countries due to this new manner of purchasing. we could add that could be also external and internal factors to consider, such as decrease in the economy, lack of innovation, environmental issues, new competition, etc.

The current rise of in the amount of litter and vandalism that has suffered the plaza, it could be attached to many factors, for instance, as a lower attendance of customers that affect the revenues generate the plaza, it has been unable to hire new security crew to maintain the security in the place, causing an increase in crime throughout.

So, prohibited skateboarding in the town will not solve the main problem which can be affected by many possible factors.
