hustlebunny Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) Hi guys, I am applying for a MS interdisciplinary program housed in Engineering with a non-engineering background (targeted for non). On the website it states that I need a supervisor before I apply however I need to know which supervisors are taking students but the information on which supervisors are open is not listed on the website. I emailed them to say what do I need to do to find out which supervisors are open and they told me that there is no need to select one, however it will help evaluate me faster and if I don't have one, during the evaluation process if they consider my application, they will attempt to find a supervisor for me. Now I am thinking should I just contact the people I want to work with anyway? Cause it's probably competitive and who will have time to attempt to help me by then. Any advice on how to navigate this without being shutdown by potential supervisors as a nuisance? The information part is the website encourages us to contact co-supervisors of the supervisors and I am like how...so most of the tips seem geared toward current students.
