PoliSciGirl Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) So, I got into both of the schools in which I applied. I was thinking I wasn't going to get into GMU so I was thinking all weekend on why Penn State would end up being better for me. Well, yesterday I got an acceptance letter from GMU and now the place I really wanted to go, I am doubting. And here's why: Penn State is in state tuition for me: ~$550/credit GMU: ~$1050/credit for the first year until I hopefully receive instate tuition The GMU program is ranked better by about 20+ schools. Penn State has an online program so I wouldn't have to pay for housing and they have a wonderful alumni network and what I mean is that everyone has heard of penn state or knows someone who went there in some major or another. George Mason... not so much Is it worth the expense to be in DC and a little bit better school for a masters in Public Policy? Also, I just got married on New Years Eve so I would be away from my husband. We know it will be hard but we understand it will help us both out in the long run if I end up choosing GMU. Well looks like you made your decision according to your signature block. If you haven't made a decision and want help, you might want to remove that. If you HAVE made a decision, lol, then congrats!
