What's it like to study MS in BME at Emory/Georgia Tech?

Hello!

I received admission into GT's MS in BME. I am wondering what the experience of studying at GT/Emory was like? We're all the faculty welcoming to MS students working in their research labs? Is the coursework time-consuming and inhibiting to your research? What is the social life like, and how free is one throughout the week to do things pertaining to self-care (i.e. exercise, hanging out with friends, etc). Also, what are the prospects for a graduate in the program looking to go into academia, (MDPhD route), and not into industry?

Feel free to answer to any combination of these questions! Thanks so much.
