Paig3 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Hi all! I had an interview with Pacific University on February 21st, and received an email the same day or day after concerning an option to speak with a current student participating in their SLP master's program, which I expressed high interest in. However, I received an email today informing me that I had been rejected from the program, and I never got the opportunity to talk to the student, as I was supposed to speak with them over zoom tonight. I was wondering if any prospective students for Pacific University were offered this same opportunity? I found it a bit odd that I didn't get a chance to talk with the student before hearing about my admission status, as I thought the admissions committee would consider some current student input regarding a final decision. Thank you all in advance for your help/input!
laurelstock Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I interviewed on 2/15th but wasn't offered this option, I haven't been waitlisted or rejected, but that seems weird that they offered that to you and then rejected you?

Thanks for replying! It's nice to get another opinion on this. I wasn't sure if this was a common occurrence while applying for graduate programs, but this for sure confirms that this was a bit of a strange happening. I was hoping it might have been a mistake, but I haven't heard from Pacific University since the initial rejection email.
