York University, Toronto, Canada Funding: 43k$ per year Length: 3.5 - 4 year PhD in Mathematics and Statistics Deadline to response: April 10 2020 2. Florida State University, USA Funding: Self-fund first year and pending situation for the rest years (Basically, no) Length: 5 year PhD in Biostatistics Deadline to response: April 15 2020 My long-term goal is industry. Teaching is my second option. Before I applied to the phd program I have already obtained my MS degree in Statistics and am currently working as a Biostatistician in Los Angeles. The rank of the two universities is high, FSU ranks higher but you should consider the department you're going to and the professors's work. So, ranking wise I don't think it might matter much, I think it all comes down to the program and cost. I don't think anything about math/stat or biostatistics, so consider what you like more and also consider the financing. Being a PhD students doesn't allow you to work on the side, you want to be comfortable so 43$ a year seems pretty great to me. Just make sure they will keep finding you till the end of your studies, because PhD in Canada can take on average 5-6 years ( I'm talking about my major "molecular genetics", I don't know about Math" Wish you all the best.
