I have acceptances into both and not from the area. I have to decide in the next couple days. Can someone give me their two cents?! Thanks!!

I was waitlisted at Marquette and will probably be withdrawing soon, but I grew up in Milwaukee, so I can talk a little bit about the city! I think a lot of people are pleasantly surprised when they come to Milwaukee. There's (usually) a lot to do in the summers, and there's a festival nearly every weekend down by the lake. Marquette isn't in the best area, but as long as you stay alert you should be okay (ditto for The Rave, which is where a lot of bands come to play- it's about 10 blocks north of Marquette). If you like sports, the Brewers and Bucks are both fun games, and they are generally a lot cheaper than in other cities. Let me know if you have any more questions!

I went to Marquette for undergrad and majored in speech path and decided to go the audiology route! I loved my clinical experiences as an undergrad. You really do get individuals from all over Wisconsin and Chicago areas and get very diverse case loads. I was with two clients for my undergrad speech clinical and both experiences were very different and taught me so much. The professors are very passionate about what they do, diverse in their specific areas of interest, and they will push you to be your very best as a student and clinician. I absolutely LOVE Milwaukee. Milwaukee comes alive during the summer and there is so much to do from festivals, boat cruises and events to coffee shops on every corner and diverse food scene. If you do go to Marquette, you have to go to a basketball game at least once. The fans are unlike any other and the fact that we get to play in an NBA arena is amazing. If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out! I loved my Marquette experience and the speech path program is top notch.
