Hello All,

While I wouldn't be entering until Fall of 2021, I've started thinking about grad school. I am currently a Junior at the University of Central Florida majoring in Poly Sci and minoring in Writing and Rhetoric, which I adore. Right now, my ideal career goal is in the realm of political communications, so while I have Poly Comm and Communication MA's on my list, I was wondering if there were certain Rhet/Comp MA's that aren't as focused on an academia route.

I feel as if I have learned so much from my minor that would be useful for my intended career path, and though it's broad, I feel like it would be applicable. At the same time, I obviously don't want to complete a degree I won't get much use out of.

My 'stats'

GPA: 3.78 (should go up a bit)

GRE: 164 Verbal, 148 Quant, 3.5 Analytical Writing (don't know how that happened)

Right now I'm looking mostly in the SC/NC/DC/VA area, but I would love any personal insight on any programs or any general feedback!

Here is a list of MA and PhD programs:

Some are more professional writing oriented. UCF has an MA program.

I recommend trying to make the most of your UCF experiences. Terminal MAs in Professional Writing lead to jobs after because of the internships and connections you make, but you can make those right now if you want.
