Will dropping a class with a W affect admittance?.

Hello,

I'm taking a class this semester which turned out to be very different than I expected and I'm not doing well on it. I don't need it for anything, not even credits, and am considering dropping it. Problem is, I'll get a W in my transcript. Do you think a school will retract their admission offer if I have a W on my final transcript? It would be my only W in all of my college career.

thanks

i dropped two classes while in undergrad - one unrelated to my major (dropped macroecon as a psych major) and one directly related to my degree (io psychology), for very different reasons. i still got into a phd program. do well overall, your dropped class is literally a drop in the bucket.

@iosman001, I don't think so. I don't think they will punish you for one W in the face of multiple national and international crises.

You could call the program and ask the question directly if that will help you to relax so you can get some rest this summer and then start getting ready for your next term.
