I am having a hard decision to make between the two master programs in biostatistics at University of Michigan Ann Arbor and University of Arizona, Tuscon. Michigan does not offer any funding and there is no guarantee to get funding for the second year. This means I am looking at a 70K loans at the worst scenerio. On the other hand, I am fully funded at Arizona. Their biostat program is new and the numbers of falcuties are limited. My goal is to become a lead biostatistics after graduate (of course I would go for a PhD afterward). I am wondering whether this potential 70K loans is worth-wide to take. I would appreciate anyone's advice on this.

Tucson beats Ann Arbor on weather almost any time of the year. Plus, won't it be nice not being burdened by loans while in your PhD program?
