I'm starting a clinical psychology PhD program this fall and looking to upgrade to a new laptop. I currently have a macbook air that I used throughout college and loved (it's now about 6 years old and slowly dying). I'm thinking about getting a macbook pro now. Is this a good laptop for psych grad school? Any comments/feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Several of my classmates have Macbooks (not sure if pro). I have a 2 year old Microsoft Surface, which I love. The capability to switch to a tablet is very convenient for when I'm reading/annotating PDFs. Whatever you get, as long as it can run SPSS/R/any other stats software you may be using, you're good. Also, depending on how you work, the capability for docking/connecting a 2nd monitor may be convenient (like when looking at data and writing up papers).
