confusedbear Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 (edited) Hi all, Normally, I would like to send thank-you notes maybe with a little gift to all my professors. However, since all our classes are virtual now and campus buildings are locked, I don't believe that if I send a note to my professor's mailbox in the department building they will receive it. Does anyone have ideas about how to thank your letter writers, then? I was already thinking of 1. writing a detailed email about specific things I appreciate about what they did, 2. waiting until quarantine has officially ended to send another real thank you note. But I'd appreciate any other suggestions, since email just doesn't feel as nice. Edited November 22, 2020 by confusedbear grammar
Stat Assistant Professor Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 A short e-mail is fine. I've written some letters of recommendation for students for grad school or medical school applications, and I happily accepted a thank you e-mail from them.
UniformlyDivergent Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Probably different from school to school, but at at my Alma Mater I know the professors still have access to their offices/inboxes, so you might be okay sending post.
