Part-time job as a MA student?

I've heard from my potential program that getting a GA or TA as a MA student is iffy and not certain yet. In looking ahead I'm wondering if I don't get funding would it be possible to maintain a part-time job while being an MA student? I just can't see it plausible I could afford rent and groceries if I don't have some form of income.

I think it would depend on the program specifically, but I worked full time hours at a part-time job while in my MA. I had 0 free time between work, classes, and homework, but I was able to do everything and get good grades.
