possumvibes Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 (edited) Hey everyone. I was admitted to Duke's Master of Biostatistics program with a $20k/year scholarship. I would like to know what people think about this program if they have any experience with it. I'm pretty compelled to go from a financial and academic standpoint, with the only better pending offers coming from Michigan, UNC, and UMN. However, I don't know how likely it is for these schools to give funding to MS students. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Edited January 16, 2021 by possumvibes
cyberwulf Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Traditionally, UNC/UMich/UMN rarely give funded offers to Masters students (at Michigan, it's only for people who are in the "PhD track"). Duke is definitely a step below those places in terms of prestige, but it's got some good faculty and is located in close proximity to the Research Triangle so is probably a decent bet in terms of landing a good job after you graduate.
