KRS2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 (edited) Hi all, my parent has worked a blue collar job at an ivy league university for 20+ years. I applied to a graduate program at this university, and it is highly competitive (I believe a 15% acceptance rate). My stats aren't fantastic, but I was accepted to another competitive program with generous aid, so I'm feeling I might have a shot. Any idea if your parent working at a university is taken into consideration by the admissions team? I mentioned this in the documents I submitted. Stats: GRE Quant/Verbal/Writing: 154/158/4.5 GPA: 3.2, Small Private Liberal Arts School, Political Science/International Affairs with minors in Hispanic Studies and Philosophy 4 years work experience: lobbying internship at a big tech company right out of college, 3 years in support role at prestigious international economics organization, 1 year in health policy research at a university Edited January 26, 2021 by rbc2021 data correction
