SLPtobemaybe Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Hello Everyone, I was curious if anyone had any insight into if there has been an influx of graduate school applications this year due to many schools no longer requiring standardized tests. I took a gap year to to work in a related field and worry that the current job market and fewer requirements will make the application pool much larger than previous years. I know law schools have seen something like a 50%-200% increase in applications and wasn't sure if there was any information regarding our field. Is anyone else super stressed about this, or is it just me?
dani_zee Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Yes there has definitely been an influx of applications, especially for schools that don't require the GRE. I got rejected from Boston U due to "exceptionally talented application pool and the large number of applications." It was a reach school for me anyway so I'm not surprised I was rejected. I wouldn't worry too much about it, in all likelihood you'll get into at least one!
