  1. Great idea, I filled out the form! When I was in high school applying to college, my school had this calculator that took your GPA and SAT score and you can see applicants with scores similar to yours which really helped me get an idea of which colleges I would get into. I know college GPA and GRE scores aren't everything, but I think being able to compare your numbers with others can be helpful.
  2. I'm a bit picky about what I wanted (2 bed 2 bath, central heat and ac, as close to campus as possible) so I wanted to start early. It paid off because I got everything I wanted. I had to pay a broker fee equivalent to 1 months rent, but I didn't have to pay last months rent so it kinda evened out. I think the pandemic has made it easier to do the whole process online which is great if you can't see places in person.
  3. I'm from New Jersey and am in the process of signing a lease for an 8/1 move in. My orientation starts August 27th, but I wanted a few weeks to get furniture and get adjusted to the area. From what I've seen, 9/1 is the most common move in date, but 8/1 exists too. I started looking online (apartments.com, zillow, trulia) but I found those were limited. I googled "best boston realtors" and contacted some realtors that way. They were able to send me different listings with video tours and pictures. Then I went to Boston end of April to see some apartments in person, found one I liked, and started the application process. So I think this month would be the best time to sign a lease. Good luck!
  4. Any suggestions on where to buy cheap or used furniture in Boston? Either actual stores or facebook groups? I'll be moving into the city August 1st.
  5. Thank you! UVM follows the standard April 15th decision deadline.
  6. I'm going to Emerson!!! William Paterson is in NJ, it has a small cohort. It's a great program, I just wanted to go somewhere outside of NJ since I stayed in state for undergrad.
  7. Anyone still waiting to hear back from schools? I'm still waiting on UConn and Kean. UConn is probably my second choice so I'm really hoping to hear back this week (they originally said we would hear back around 3/15)
  8. I have been waitlisted at UMass Amherst, Towson University, Penn State, and Temple. They all had more applicants than usual so I think for some of them I was waitlisted because of that. I really doubt I will get accepted to any of them, but that's okay because I have enough acceptances to choose from
  9. Really? In what way? I actually heard the opposite, guess everyone has different opinions!
  10. I haven't officially declined any schools yet, and am still waiting for more decisions (see my signature), but I will very likely be declining these spots within the next 2 weeks! Acceptances: Northeastern, University of Vermont, William Paterson Waitlists: UMass Amherst, Towson, Penn State I hope this helps people get off the waitlist and into their dream school!
  11. I got rejected from BU (not that suprised) and accepted to Emerson. I will likely be committing to Emerson! I have also heard that faculty are very supportive and work with you. They're both amazing programs, just different types of schools and experiences.
  12. Has anyone officially committed to a school yet? I'm visiting schools I was accepted to before officially committing, but I'm still so scared to press the button when the time comes!
  13. @cjuleskusky Emerson College (On Campus Program). I hope you get off the waitlist too, it's a great program!
  14. I got accepted to Willy P Friday 3/5. However I got into my dream school so I will most likely be declining my spot.
