Lerry.k Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Hello everyone! I would like to ask for your opinions/experiences with informal interviews and how it affects the final decision. Maybe some of you even applied for it. I have applied for the MA European History, Politics and Society at Columbia University. I was invited to informal interview on February 19th which went pretty well. I was interviewed by program director and we spoke about my research interests mostly. She seemed satisfied with the answers and at the end she mentioned that my research topic better fits the MA Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harriman Institute Columbia, so she will redirect my portfolio to them and recommend my candidacy. Moreover, she mentioned that the program currently offers up to 50% of funding + 10-15K in stipend and if that would be sufficient for me to study there. She said that they will get back to me in mid March. Shall I expect to be accepted to the program based on that conversation? Is there any chance to hear back earlier than that date? Cheers!
