wwwk454 Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 I was on the wait-list of my dream school A. I didn't expect that I would get into this master's program at school A, but I just have received an acceptance letter from school A.The problem is I have already accepted another master's program offer at school B. I have already paid my enrollment deposit and the status shows that I am "enrolled"Can I decline an offer after I enrolled?
statenth Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 I think you should contact the officer and department(or program) ASAP.
marloe Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 You might not get your deposit back, but you can for sure decline an offer after the fact and accept another. Life events happen, people will decline before September for a variety of reasons.
nc2nyc Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 I just did this. I had so convinced myself that my dream school was impossible that I accepted a great offer elsewhere. Even posted to social media. Then I actually got into my dream school and had to backtrack. Sent an email to my POI and CC'd the Graduate School advisor and Admission's email, apologizing profusely. Didn't tell them where eI was going instead, but rather that it was an incredibly difficult decision and that circumstances had changed. They said they were disappointed but understood. And like that, I was free to accept the other offer.
