Hello everyone,

I want to email professors for Ph.D. programs but I have various concerns. First of all, I am a foreign student and not a USA citizen. My BA is in English Language Education and I graduated as the valedictorian (GPA; 3.74, from a no-name university). I am doing my master's in Foreign Language education, and I am also working as a full-time research assistant at a state university. I have only 1 research article published, 3 oral presentations (+1 seminar speaker), 1 Springer book chapter (accepted), and 2 submitted articles. I have experience as a reviewer, one is in a Q3 journal. My interests are technology in education, gamification and computational social sciences. I know Stanford is a long-shot for me but I want to try it. Amon Stanford CTE programs, I am interested in 2 Ph.D. programs; Literacy, Language, and English Education and Education Data Science. I am sure that I will send an e-mail to LLE, but I am not sure if the Education Data Science program is suitable for someone who does not have any statistical or engineering background (I have a manuscript that is a methodological review of quantitative research in my field but that's it). I don't want to limit myself to just Stanford as well because I doubt I will be accepted, so I look forward to your Ph.D. program suggestions in the USA. I am also curious about your views on whether I have a chance at Stanford.
