signului Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 So I am writing this late but I excepted at Carleton because it was my first choice and unfortunately did not receive a SSHRC reward there but did receive one at York which was my second choice. Now I have no intention of going to York because the program is just not a fit for me and I am going to be rejecting the SSHRC from there tomorrow which is the deadline. However, when I was speaking with my department advisor in like March she told me to tell her if anything changes and you want to ask for more funding. Now the deadline is basically already done and I would not go to York, but should I try and ask for more funding from Carleton? I don't know if in this case they would just tell me "look you didn't get SSHRC we can't do anything" because they are right and I am going to go to Carleton anyways, but I feel like I might as well try. I already got an extra 1k a few months ago because they reacted to my York offer, but I was told to try again if anything changed so I feel like my department advisor may have been telling me to go for it.
BTF Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) Yes, ask. You're turning down $17,500. Did you get OGS at Carleton? Source: got SSHRC and OGS at Carleton Edited May 17, 2021 by BTF
