SAIS MIPP experience requirement

I'm very interested in the SAIS Master in International Public Policy. However I'm concerned of the 7 years experience requirement. I have currently 5 years of in field experience working for an international non-profit, and one additional year of work in two internships but on private sector, while I was doing undergraduate studies.

 

Does anyone know how strict is the experience requirement on the SAIS MIPP program?

Hi, I'm also interested in the MIPP program. Just following up to see how everything worked out for you.

I believe the requirement is fairly strict - and that those accepted tend to have more experience than the average. I think the total application package is what matters, and fewer years in a certain role/capacity may be more appealing to them (from an admissions pov) than a far longer career spent in a less compelling role.
